Like many golfers, I have worried about how I looked playing golf. I wondered if my game was acceptable to hook up complete strangers. Because of my uncertainty, I would follow along with what others were playing even though I thought it was not the right shot at the time. If they hit the ball long, I would try and hit my ball long…..most of the time to my dismay. I would basically change how I played golf because I thought that it would be for everyone in my group. After failing miserably during many rounds, I had to learn to drop the guise of playing golf and actually play my game!

Letting Bad Habits Creep Into Your Golf Game
How hard do you work at your golf game? Do you spend hours honing specialty shots to lower your scores? I know I have and will continue to do so. Unfortunately, there are times when my efforts are undone because I allow bad habits from creeping into my game. It happens slowly until one day I am not hitting a specific shot as well as I have practiced. It makes me wonder what happened and fall into a fit of retrospection. Letting bad habits creep into our golf game will always cost us strokes in the long run.

It is not a difficult skill to master, but knowing when to use this specific stroke is the key to lowering your golf scores.

If you are like me, most of your approach shots come up short. There several simple reasons for this faux pas, but there is one that I make on a seemingly routine basis. I misjudge my hitting distance by not using the right club. I know that this sounds crazy, but if I am going to make a mistake selecting clubs, I generally make it on approach shots. I am not trying to be glib and evasive, but I am trying to convey that closing ranks on the golf course is a challenge in on its own. Thus, I have a process or method (of course I do….right) that helps me manage my game and lower my overall golf score.
