Looking Good At Osprey Links Golf Course

Spring is here! The temperatures are warming up, the snow is disappearing and my home course of Osprey Links is looking awesome. Spring has come a bit earlier this year and as a result we can still expect a few days of craziness….and the first one is today. The best thing about the rain, sleet and snow is that it will not stay and the extra moisture will not hurt the course. We just need some sun so things can dry up.

Osprey Links Pulls The Pins For The Last Time In 2020

It is official! Yesterday, Osprey Links has pulled their pins for the last time in 2020. After 155 days and thousands of rounds, Jeff Rogerson (GM/DM) decided to put an end to this tumultuous season. It was a great year considering the many COVID restrictions and I am already looking forward to next year.

My 2020 Golf Season Is Under Way!

The golf season has finally arrived! I will be golfing at Osprey Links today and I cannot overstate how excited I am to hit the links. The funny thing is that we have been waiting for the Ontario Government to give permission due to their COVID 19 restrictions, but in my area the weather is just now cooperating. So, it is unlikely we would have started much sooner anyway. Regardless, I am hitting the links today!

We Are Getting Close To Playing Golf

Well, the time is almost upon us to hit the links. Because of COVID-19, all golf courses in Ontario have been closed since last fall (Well since mid-March for COVIC-19 and winter for the rest). Now we await patiently for the government to give us the thumbs up. And last Friday, Premier Doug Ford told golf courses to start full scale maintenance and to prepare for opening day! This is great news for all golfers in Ontario.

The Craziness of Opening Day

As opening day creeps closer, I start to prepare for the first tee. Every golfer has a routine, superstitions, or must do things that ensure the are ready to hear the crack of the their driver hitting their ball. Of course, may of us need to back track a few days (weeks) before the joy of playing golf in 2020 begins. This year, I am going to try something different to stem the craziness and manage my excitement of teeing it up.
