Toronto Golf and Travel Show 2016
Last Friday, I made my annual trek to the Toronto Golf and Travel Show. This year’s trip was extra special because my darling wife accompanied me as I wove my way through the club demos, travel booths and discount shops.
As per previous years, the Toronto Golf show was full of areas to try new equipment, long drive contest, putting contests, swing analyzer, receive lessons, discount shops, and plenty of travel destinations. We enjoyed talking to people from Golf PEI, Golf Association Ontario and Golf Canada. We were there early before the crowds and lasted about 2.5 hours.
We were not interested in booking a golf trip at this time, so many of the kiosks were not great interest to us. However, we did talk to people from Puerto Rico, Ohio, Alabama, Maryland and of course Ontario. I found it interesting the number of places I have never considered golf destinations, but there they were. Some of the southern US destinations were offering 25% off their price (due to the value of the Canadian dollar) to entice Canadians make a golf trip this year. They were all full very nice and gave us some ideas for future golfing vacations.
We entered a few draws and will patiently wait to see if Friday was our lucky day. On a high point, I did win a round of golf Cobble Beach Golf Resort in Owen Sound, Ontario. Cobble Beach offers something pretty cool; “Enjoy a free round of golf at Cobble Beach on your birthday. With this Free Birthday Round you will play on Cobble Beach’s award-winning 18 hole links style golf course, designed by Doug Carrick.” I am looking forward to playing there this spring!
There was plenty to see and do and I was like a kid in a candy store. I have other stories to share in future posts, but for now I hope you enjoyed the recap of our time at the golf show.
I enjoy going to the golf show; it is an opportunity to see all things golf! Do you go to golf shows?
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
I used to go to this show every year. I never won a thing. 😂

It was the first time for me as well. No complaints for sure. Winning a free round of golf is always good.
