The right golf ball for your game is very important. Over the years, I think I have tried them all to try and find that perfect ball for my game. As my game changed, the need for a different golf ball also changed.
I think evolving your game is an important aspect of playing golf. And selecting the proper equipment is at the core of that change. Having said that, I had a recent conversation with Mike Johnny, 36aday golf blog and an ambassador for Snell Golf, about my continuing search and graciously offered to sent me a gift.

Snell Golf Balls
A sleeve of “Get Sum” and “My Tour Ball” are a great start to help with my search. I plan to test and write a review in the spring, but in the meantime I am grateful for Mike sending me some Snell golf balls!
“The team at Snell Golf has one solitary mission: to bring tour caliber equipment to the amateur golfer at an affordable price. Our experience in R&D along with our strategic manufacturing partnership and direct to consumer distribution model allows us to do just that.”
On a side note, my daughter bought me the test pack for my birthday. She listen to my hint from a previous article before Mike and I talked. As a Canadian company, I was intrigued by Snell Golf and wanted to give them a try.
I plan to do a full review in the spring when I can actually hit the links. If you were wondering about golf ball construction and selection, check out my infographic on the subject.
Did you receive golf balls as a present lately? Were they what you expected?
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
That should be reduced rate not results ed rate

No worries. I deciphered your meaning. 😃

I received 6 dozen Nike RZN Black golf balls for Christmas. I asked for a years supply since they were $30 on the Nike website. I love ProV1x and these Nike balls. But Nike is done as an equipment company so I got these results ed rate prices.

Smart way to by golf balls. I generally go through about 3 or 4 dozen at the most. I have a tendency to play the same ball for 3 rounds or so.

Well you play more than me so you are quite efficient. I usually go through about 4 dozen per year. But I bought extra as it was cheap. And balls don’t really go bad.

Nope as long as they do not freeze. I have found that very cold temperatures does affect some golf balls regardless of brand and price.

Along with a new golf trolley, I had a dozen Callaway Chrome Soft Truvis at Christmas from my lovely wife. I play the Chrome Soft as my usual ball anyway, but the Truvis are an interesting take on how a golf ball should appear. Love the way you can see the spin on wedge shots and on the green when putting. Cheers, Rob.

I did a review on the Truvis pattern. I think the same thing. Also helps with putting speed. Happy New Year.

Jim,
I had the chance to try the Tour ball when I teed it up with Mike in Calgary. It was a good ball for the price. However I am fairly stubborn and won’t be torn away from ProV1’s just yet!
Have a great New Year’s Eve!

Golf balls are such a personal preference. I am looking forward to giving them a try. I have my favorites as well, however I am open to change if the value is there. We shall see. Happy New Year to you and Beth.

Thanks, Jim. I appreciate the shout out. My philosophy is make an informed decision on what ball is right for you. The optic yellow Get Sum is ideal for my game tee to green and hits a strong value point. I look forward to hearing more once you’re able to tee them up. Don’t forget the 36aday promo code. 🙂 Nice of your daughter to pick up on your hints, too. All the best for the new year.

I got a dozen Titleist NXTs
I have been buying used NXTs off Amazon, usually 5 dozen at a time at under a $1 a ball. I buy the AAAA quality and they are in great shape.
My banker gave me a sleeve of Vice golf balls. They are trying to do something similar to Snell. My banker is an Avid golfer, her Dad has one many NS amateurs and seniors.
I’m also curious about Costco’s golf balls. They gave mixed reviews.
But likely I will stick to the used Titleist NXTs . I really like them.
My plan for this year is to work mostly on short game. We’ll see how that works out. I just have to decide if I am joining a course and which one.
Happy New Year Jim

Great to hear from you. If NXTs work for you, then they are the right ball at this time. As your game evolves, don’t be afraid to try different golf balls. I have read quite a bit about the Kirkland golf ball and until I try them, I will hold my opinion. Picking a golf ball is different for everyone and their reasons for their selection.
On a side note, working on your short game is a great idea! Happy New Year!
