It is spring and our course is soaked. As we trundle around from hole to hole, the real challenge of golf is to side step the puddles and quagmires left by the receding winter. This yearly test of agility is eagerly embraced by most golfers. Personally, the wet does not bother me much, but from time to time the soaked ground becomes tiresome.
Unfortunately, I do not have any perils of wisdom on how to keep dry. Other than wearing a quality pair of shoes and avoid the deepest puddles, I accept the fact that I will get wet each time I play until around mid-May.
Although I do not have a plan, one of my friends has adopted a method to prevent the water from wicking up his pants.

Rolling up your cuffs to keep dry when playing spring golf.
I am not sure his method is stylish, but I can attest to the fact that his pants were dry after 9 holes of play. So I guess I can this to the top of my list of how to keep dry on the golf course in the spring.
So I ask you, do you have another way to keep dry on the course in the spring? If so, please share it with us; we are all ears!
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Jim,
Not only do you need to try and find fairways in the spring, but you also need to dodge the puddles! That’ll really test your game out of the gates 😉 As far as wet conditions, I just hope my golf shoes are as waterproof as they claim to be, and accept that shoes and pants may get a little dirty.

Jim, I have no solve for your wetness issue other than come down and play some golf in the DMV. We had one two inch snowstorm all winter and current conditions are hard and fast!
Good luck; stay dry!

Thanks Brian! Maybe some day I will make it to the DMV. For now, I play golf with the ducks.

I start writing and it never ends. I just deleted a comment that was going on novel size. All to say I have one thing I worry about in wet conditions. My glasses. I keep a few wipes and a bottle of cleaner in the bag for when my glasses get wet or muddy. And that’s pretty much it except this is Florida and retrieving or hitting a ball in the water can be hazardous to your health. It’s safer to toss something in first to make sure there isn’t a gator there waiting just under the surface before stepping in, shoes or no.

Well that is a new one for me. Beware of the alligators….now that is a hazard!
