With all the different news going on in golf, it is easy to point fingers. I for one, try to avoid being judgmental because the “glass house” adage always comes to mind. But when one of the greatest golfers of all time breaks the rules with no concern for the rules or consequences, the I have to comment!
I am talking about Tiger Woods kicking his ball onto the fair way. It was caught on someones phone and I can see from his reaction that he does not give a hoot! Take a look!
All I can say about this is Well Done! I do not know how many times I wanted to do this (and actually have) during a round. It obviously is a practice round for Tiger so why not put the ball in an advantageous position and practice. Like I have said, I have done the same thing and will do so in the future. When practicing or playing for fun, the foot wedge is a valuable and need shot in golf.
My parody does have a point. Many times the headlines are misleading and immediately we jump to the wrong conclusion. We start to make false assumptions about what is happening and generally think the worse about the situation. Golf media, in my opinion, manifests this unfortunate opportunity sometimes because of their effort (need) to be fast and first with an article. When reading articles, I try to stay positive and remember that there are usually many sides to every story. Like my point about Tiger kicking the ball, things may not be as they seem.
Have an awesome Tuesday and join us for #GolfChat on Twitter at 8 pm EST in Canada and the US.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
