Forgetting To Write A Golf Article

I am trying to keep myself busy during this challenging time by writing something everyday. I am well on the way, but yesterday life got in the way and I forgot to prepare an article for today. I noticed when I checked my email this morning and no notice of a published article appeared. I was shocked and well disappointed in myself, so here is what you get…..ramblings!

Not to make excuses, but when I was drafting a post my internet died. No, it is not a lame excuse like my dog ate my homework, it actually died. After 30 minutes of waiting, I decided to come back to my writing and well I forgot.

So, yesterday I spent the better part of the day working in my garage and yard just doing spring stuff. I was preoccupied with other matters and just never got back to my half written article. I did, however, do something golfish (yes I am making up my own words now) yesterday, I hit balls into my DIY driving net.

It was after supper and needed to shake off the lazy feeling I had, so originally I decided to got do some more yard work. However, the weather turned sour, so I went into the garage and my practice area was calling me. It told me to get my sorry butt over and whack a few golf balls. I tried calling Rick and Blair to get them to analyze my swing, but we did not connect.

When I was hitting golf balls, I noticed that I was not hitting the ball in the position I wanted. I was hitting behind the ball an inch or so an I have to say I was surprised. I do not have any lines on my homemade chipping mat and this posed a bit of problem. So, I dropped a club on the mat and used that to align my ball and stance. It made a world of difference, so today I will be breaking out my alignment sticks. It is about time to focus more on my technique so I am ready for opening day.

That is all the ramblings for today. I am on day 107 of articles and I am thinking I am well on my way for another 365 day streak. We shall see and I am not promising anything.

I hope everyone is staying safe and practicing social distancing. I know I am and will continue to support all the front line workers, first responders, and background workers keeping us fed, healthy and safe by doing my part to flatten the curve of COVID 19. I am grateful for their sacrifice.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
