Butch Harmon offers a tip on how to successfully sink short putts. The crux of the lesson is to keep you head focused on the contact point between the ball and the putter before looking up. This helps facilitate solid contact and a complete putter stroke.
Very simple and effective. I use a version of this tip by counting to one before looking up. It works for me, give it a try and see if it works for you.
I am grateful golfer! See you on the links!
I read today that in tests, golfers miss left to right only about 3 cups wide but miss front to back by 48 inches. This indicates we should spend most of our time learning to control our speed.

Kevin,
The speed versus line argument is ongoing for sure. I think that understanding speed will affect line more the the opposite. Unfortunately, both are tied together and should not be separated.

The point was that we do well on average at hitting our lines but we don’t do well controlling our distance. Both are important of course but since our biggest fault is distance we should probably spend a bit more time working on it over line which we aren’t too bad at naturally.
