Fighting Your Golf Swing Or Going With It

Through the course of any golf season, I encounter times when I fight my golf swing. These periods of struggle sometimes last more that a few holes, rounds, or an eternity (or at least it seems that way). Fighting my golf swing can bring a great deal of frustration because in most cases I do not know exactly the cause. Sometimes it just shows up and disappears without any rhythm or reason. There are times when my swing is consistently off and it is during those times I decide to go with my current swing mechanics and try to limit the damage. This is a real solution and I think it should be taught to all beginners.

Ouch, That Hurts!

Have you ever swung a golf club and felt the vibration of the shot through your whole body. I know we feel many miss hits in our hands or arms, but a whole body awakening is a rare thing. I have felt a few of these through the years, but only on in 2020. It was in the fall and things were a bit cool, but not overly cold; so, the temperature really did not have anything to do with the shock of my shot. It actually was something different.

It is a basic tenant to launching the ball, yet we amateurs seem to forget this critical fact when swinging away. Different Golf Swings – Pt2

Last night during my indoor golf league at Rhino Sports, I realized that a different golf swing is required for different course conditions. It was strange, but I had to adjust my swing to fit the hard playing surface of the indoor simulator to get distance with my clubs!

Normally, I trap the ball as seen in the video below. I have found that trapping the ball offers more distance and better control with my irons. However, this style of swing does not fit my woods or hybrids; so like many players I play a more of a sweeping swing with them. Continue reading
