The 2023 PGA Championship Final Word

Congratulations to Brooks Koepka for winning the Wanamaker Trophy. His win yesterday was his third PGA Championship and fifth Major in his career. I am not surprised as I chose him to win earlier in the week. (Not to mention Victor Hovland to be second) Koepka found is form from the past when he was almost unbeatable and he looks to be on his way to rack up a few more Majors over the next few years. However, his win was not the only highlights of the tournament that caught the my attention.

The Last Round Of The 2023 PGA Championship

As I predicted a few days ago, my top two selects are in the running for the 2023 PGA Championship. Brooks Koepka and Viktor Hovland will be in the final pairing on Sunday afternoon. It will be interesting to see if either can have a quick start to put pressure on the players chasing them for the Wanamaker Trophy. The player I am watching the most is Corey Connors, Canadian, who had one bad hole yesterday to drop out of the lead. With a virtual whose who filling out the top 10 players on the leaderboard, it really is anyone’s tournament to win. With so many great players vying for the win, have you wondered what it would take to close the deal?

Update From The 2023 Masters

Day two was rain delayed, trees were blown over, and Brooks Koepka kept rolling. To no surprise, the drama continue at The Masters with the weather rolling in causing all kinds of havoc. I realize this is a first world problem, yet I cannot wonder how the players with half of their second round still to play will enjoy the soggy conditions on day 3? It is not ideal, but something that all golfers face when at the mercy of Mother Nature. The change in weather will not affect everyone and I am interested to see who will beat back the conditions to shoot a great score. Are you?

Day One At The 2923 Masters

The first day at the Masters was exciting. With 44 players sitting at even or better (just over half), moving day is shaping up to be exciting. Three players shot minus 7 to lead the field as I expected. Hovland, Rahm and Koepka’s score is two lower than I thought, they did establish themselves as the players to beat. Now that Friday is here, Augusta National will start to rear its toughness expected by many during the first round. However, the playing conditions were perfect and 44 players refused to bow to the pressure. So what is instore for Moving Day at this year’s Masters? Can the players respond with the same scoring now that the weather is starting to roll in?

Which Player Shows Up At The Masters

It is Masters week! I am confident that if you have any interest in golf you have reserved your seat on the couch ready for the action. Even if you decide to travel out of the country during the Masters weekend, I am confident your are watching the leaderboard. The hype of The Masters is catching and my old home course of Osprey Links runs a Masters pool where we pick four players and try to accumulate points. It is something that I look forward too each year and this year I think I have the winning team.
