Focusing on the End Goal in Golf

I am 14 days into my stem cell transplant with about 10 days to go. Fortunately, all is going well and I expect this to be the steady state until completion. As I sit in my hospital bed, I find myself making many mini-goals that helps me stay the course of the end goal – healthy and heading home! I find that these mini-goals are as much a physical process as mental; yet hey are all connected.  Continue reading

My Last Day Of Treatment

After six months of battling lymphoma, today is the last day of treatment. My stem cells, which were harvested three weeks ago, are finally being infused back into my body. After several treatments of intense chemotherapy, it is time to start the road to recover. I still have a long way to go, but focusing on recovery is a relief. Additionally, I can set a goal of playing golf this fall which will motivate me to stay focused on a healthy recover. Continue reading

Moving Day at the 100th PGA Championship

Who can stop Brooks Koepka? He is playing extremely well, especially off the tee; his booming drives and stellar wedge play makes him the odds on favorite to win today. Bellerive is beautiful, lush, and long, but nothing dangerous about it; as such, I found the scores on par with any other professional event outside of the other Majors. I am sure that there was some stellar golf being played, but I did not get the feel that excitement of Major golf. Am I missing something? Continue reading

Overwhelmed By An Awesome Gesture!

I have a blessed life! The random support I receive from my friends is amazing and every once in a while I become overwhelmed. I talked about my local golfing buddies who marked their golf ball and sent me pictures. That was a good day!

On Friday, I received a surprising tweet from Mike Johnny from 36aday golf blog. (if you have not dropped by his site, I recommend you do) Mike and I found each other’s blog a few years back and subsequently met at the Toronto Golf show in 2016. We talk regularly online about golf and our conversations are always positive. Well, Mike’s tweet caught me by surprise as I was overwhelmed with gratitude.  Continue reading
