The angle of attack in golf is a fuzzy subject for me. I understand it, but have never really been able to explain it very well. Mark Crossfield does a very good job in the video below.
This makes total sense to me. How about you? Is your angle of attack correct or do you need to adjust something? Let us know what you think!
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

Hi Jim, spent most of my life in the aircraft industry, and the angle of attack meant the attitude of the airplane in flight.

As an ex-aircraft electrician, I know what you mean. But it is never to late to learn new things…..haha. If someone starts talking about the yaw of your ball of the tee, we are in trouble!

all i know is, the farther away from the ball my swing goes the less predictable my angle of attack ….i’m still just trying to get to a ‘sweep the grass’ way of swinging which is why i’m trying to swing more laterally versus vertically so i guess i’m trying to keep my angle as low as possible – but honestly, this part of the mechanics of the game is a little above me for now but it’s useful stuff to consider. thanks for the video.

now that i’ve watched it – actually there’s a lot of good sense in this video. useful, especially in reminding me that you still need to hit down to get the ball up instead of trying to hit up which i forget to dial in sometimes. golf truly is a game of opposites. thx.

I am happy it makes sense. Looking forward to hearing how your swing progresses.

Fair enough. The angle of attack is a bit advanced, but not as much as you might think. as you develop the swing that you are comfortable with, your angle of attack will become more apparent. Knowledge is great and it will be there when you need it.
