After 365 days of continuous writing, I have reach my goal. Yup, the day after I left the hospital last year (September 6th) I decided to embark on a personal challenge of writing an article on The Grateful Golfer for one year without missing a day. And today is the day my goal is complete!
It is hard to believe how quickly 365 days went by and yet a challenge some days to write something. Carving out an hour each day in the off-season was fairly easy although the topics were more challenging to find. Conversely, carving out an hour daily during golf season was very difficult, but the topics rolled of my tongue with ease. Regardless, we have talked about golf for 1 full year without fail and hopefully you have been entertained, learned something, and improved your game.

Through the past year, The Grateful Golfer had 95,000 plus views (265 views a day on average), I wrote approximately 125,000 words, received over 1000 comments, and had over 50,000 visitors. Many positive comments were passed in support of my healing and my golf game. The whole experience was very rewarding and well worth the effort of writing daily.
Surprisingly, this was not my best year. Not that it really matters, I write for two specific reasons: first, is its healing qualities by focusing on positive things and second, because I love talking golf. The rest is secondary. Like in my golf game, stats help identify possible areas of improvement, but if I play for stats only, my game suffers.
I am not sure where I go from here. I plan to keep writing, but I might miss a day now and again. The pressure of having to write to meet my self-imposed goal is over and I feel a great sense of accomplishment.
As an early follower once said, “writing everyday is requires allot of effort to feed the beast!” Rick, from mindbodygolf.com, was absolutely right and I think this beast is full for awhile.
I want to thank everyone who has followed or just stopped by The Grateful Golfer over the last year. I am grateful you take time out of your busy day to read my musings. I hope you continue to enjoy our talk about all things golf!
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Congrats! That is a great achievement!!

Jim, I enjoyed reading your posts and also learned a lot about golf so you did a great job on each specific topic. As for the future and now that you have accomplished your goal, if you settle into writing when you have something to say, I am sure all followers will enjoy and benefit from it. Golf is a great game and having an ambassador can only encourage others to enjoy it as much as you do. Thanks again for sharing your passion. Jacques
