I have entered the time of year where times seems to have slowed to a slug like crawl. We have about 4 or 5 weeks of weather transition where most golfers in my area check the weather forecast at least three times daily. Personally, I one of those guys hoping that a sudden gust of warm weather magically falls around our region. But alas, that is not the case and I have to just patiently (not one of my stronger traits) wait for spring to arrive in earnest.
Yesterday, marked the transition towards thinking about warm weather to expecting it. I realize I seem a bit pushy, but come on it is time Mother Nature!
However, I cannot become over whelmed by my desire for warmer temperatures to overlook the beauty of the day. I am grateful for all the blessings in my life and when I look upon this:
how can I not marvel at Mother Natures beauty. Many mornings the sky is a kaleidoscope of colours that catches my attention and holds it. As the sun fights its way through the trees, I can see the efforts of transition at work every morning. It really is worth taking a few moments to watch and enjoy.
On a side note, I remember when I was a kid around eight years old, we loved this time of year. My friends and I would find little sticks and race them down the streams that formed from the melting snow. We would do this for hours chasing and hoping our boat would win. It was a carefree time filled with joy and laughter. I can picture me doing that right now.
It is time for spring and I am ready. I love watching the trees in the area wake up and bud. It seems as if it happens over night unless I take the time to watch. I love the smell of freshness that springs brings. The increase sunlight and warmth draws me outside like a fly is drawn to light. Having said all that, I am ready to experience all this joyous wonder on the golf course. It is time!
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
