Are You a Rebel or Traditionalist Golfer?

Over my many years of golfing, golf has changed. Some things for the better and others, well, not so much. What has remained constant is the attempts of equipment manufactures to make changes regardless the value. As consumers, we understand that they do this to make money and that is okay when you live in a market economy. However, I do have to discuss the recent changes to the golf ball; it seems that they might have gone a step too far!

Consistency of Play and Golf Balls

Golf is a sport that requires a high level of consistency. Regardless of what you are doing on the course, repeating the same positive motion is a must to achieve low golf scores. This is an understood premise of all low handicappers, yet there is one thing that most amateurs are doing that sabotages their game: they use old, found golf balls when they play. Continue reading

Thanks to 36aday for the Great Gift

I like to enter golf give aways. I am lucky from time to time and recently, I was very lucky. My friend, Mike Johnny from 36aday, is running a 9-week give away contest intermixed with his great views on golf. I won week 5 and today the precious cargo arrived in the mail. Thanks Mike for the great gift! Continue reading

How Many Golf Balls Do You Really Need!

Christmas giving is over. The gifts are unwrapped and I hope everyone received the top items on their list. If you are a golfer, there is a very good chance that golf balls were part of your haul. I did not ask for, nor receive golf balls this year because I still have about 5 dozen unopened boxes. Of course, if any manufacturer out there wants to send me some new golf balls to try, I am always open to writing a review on their product. (I know, a shameless plug). Now that you have a dozen or two new spheres of joy, the real question is: do you need to carry all of them during every round? Continue reading

T’Was The Night Before Christmas

As the anticipation grows for Christmas Day, it is easy to become wrapped up in the craziness of the holiday season. It is a time for fun, laughter, and good times for many. Luckily, I am one because I have a blessed life and find Christmas time enjoyable and refreshing. I am grateful for all the amazing people in my 3 foot space!

This is a time for reflection and gratitude for the blessings in my life. Each year, I am amazed by my sense of happiness when I spend time with family and friends. Of course, this is not the same feeling for everyone and for those who are finding this time of year very difficult, I will be sending you positive thoughts in the hopes that it may bring some relief to your troubled times.

I realize that this is a golf blog and I intend on getting back to the main topic after Christmas. However, I choose the word grateful as part of the name for this blog to remind me that everyday, I create the day I want! And to do this, expressing gratitude is my first step.

I hope your day is full of fun and laughter. Remember that you still have one more day to be nice; if you are not, Santa just might leave you a lump of coal in your stocking instead of golf balls!

I am a grateful golfer! Enjoy your holidays!
