Today is the start of the Arnold Palmer invitational and many great memories of this golfing legend rise to the surface. It is right to offer tribute for all the things he willingly gave to golf and so it begins.
Last year Jason Day won in wire-to-wire fashion, finishing at 17-under defeating Kevin Chappell by one stroke. It was an exciting event and this year proves to be the same with most of the top golfers teeing it up.
I am not sure who is going to win this event, but as we inch our way towards the Masters, many of the players are looking to use this event as a spring-board to playing in the first Major of 2017. It will be interesting if another first time winner steps up to the podium on Sunday, in reality, I actually hope someone does. I enjoy watching young players work their game to reach the top of the leaderboard – just think about Adam Hadwin.
I hope we see some more great shots like these this year:
As we watch the Arnold Palmer Invitational this year, keep in mind that Arnie was one of the greatest to ever play the game of golf!
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Jim,
Always enjoy the API, but honoring Arnie this year makes it feel extra special and also sad in a way. Looking forward to the weekend, this always feels like the start of the official run up to The Masters!
Cheers

I agree. This is definitely the start of the run to the Masters. Mr Palmer will be missed this year, but it he will not be forgotten.
Cheers
