What Is Fun On The Golf Course?

The definition of fun is completely different for each golfer. Some find hitting the ball a country mile their jam. Others like the delicate nature of a great short game. And others find the social aspect of playing golf to their liking. There really is no wrong answer except if you are not having a good time or feel frustrated the entire time you are on the links. If this is the case, it might be time to reevaluate the reason you spend 4 to 6 hours looping a golf course. For me it is very simple and my reason transcends all others.

For me, the fun of playing golf is the view the majestic beauty of mother nature. I love walking a course that is beautiful to the eye. It offers fantastic sounds and smells to accentuate the beauty of how the course is sculpted into the surroundings. It is a true work of art and something to be appreciated. Here is a quick video of some amazing golf courses. Although it presents five courses, I believe there are thousands more.

As breathtaking the top golf courses in the world are to the average player, most golf courses offer a hole or two that make us appreciate our surroundings. I do take time to thank the universe for sharing the amazing sights and revel in the time I am playing that particular spot in the world. I realize that this might be a little deep for a golf blog, but my fun is rooted in mother nature’s majestic beauty.

To be fair, I am having fun when I play golf with my friends. Or I am shooting a low round. Or I am watching my friends succeed on the links. Of course there are many different levels of fun golfers can have on the links and the above are just a few. Defining fun is unique to each golfer. It is up to them to decide if they are truly enjoying their time on the links. What do you define as fun on the golf course?

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
